Security Management Systems Technician

Position Overview
Under minimal supervision, the Security Management Systems Technician will be responsible for providing on-site installation of security systems equipment including control panels, power supplies, alarm and access control devices, camera systems, intercom systems, displays, and other related devices for a complete project installation.

 

Responsibilities
– Mounting control panels, cameras, access control and intrusion devices, etc. in a commercial environment
– Programming of security systems software
– Configuring client software on customer computers
– Providing customer training on the use and administration of their security systems
– Reading architectural plans and schematic line drawings accurately
– Installing, terminating and labeling various types of cables in control panels
– Problem solving and troubleshooting

 

Preferred Skills
– Experience with the following systems: S2 Security, AMAG, Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec, DMP, Exacqvision, Axis
– Ability to configure IP devices on a network (cameras, control panels, etc.)
– Experience marking up and maintaining field drawings for conversion to as-built
– Successful history of programming, testing and commissioning completed security systems
– Fundamental understanding of network systems and IP address schemes
– Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, employees, vendors and management
– Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities
– Project management
